Davines North America

Inspired by Davines’ core values of beauty and sustainability and by their headquarters in Parma Italy, Harrison Green was hired to create a garden for their new North American headquarters in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The company’s high bar for environmental practices extended to every aspect of the design, construction, and ongoing maintenance.

An extensive hornbeam hedge runs the entire length of the terrace, screening a neighboring office building and focusing attention on the unobstructed views of the city skyline. The reclaimed wood pergola provides shade for the outdoor kitchen and 20-person dining table while an abundance of additional lounge and dining furniture provides multiple options for a flexible workspace. Amongst the trees and shrubs, productive beds generate produce for the office to enjoy 8 months of the year. Two varieties of Apple and Pear grow alongside Blueberries, Raspberries, Rosemary and Cherry Tomatoes.
“With a requirement that the garden be functional for multiple uses, the terrace provides a flexible space that works as well for a Zoom meeting by day as it does for a cocktail party at night.”
